Background
Men and Women At Work (MAWAW) was established in 2001 by David Bigeni to provide temporary staffing solutions to the Port Macquarie area. Since that time the business has developed across several different markets with offices in Port Macquarie & Coffs Harbour. MAWAW are now market leaders in Labour Hire, Temporary Staffing, Traffic Management and Training & Assessment across the North Coast of New South Wales. The business has evolved to be a market leader and preferred supplier on the North Coast.
Working with MAW
The MAWAW group first started working with Ryan Financial as Tax and Accounting clients in 2013. The group entered a new and exciting era during October 2017 following 12 months of succession planning, with founder David Bigeni passing the reigns of the business to son Kiel and General Manager Ross Cargill. We enjoyed co-ordinating the process and, in particular, designing and implementing the post-acquisition structure with both Tax and Financing considerations (for both parties) in mind. We subsequently assisted with Kiel’s exit with Ross now controlling 100% of the business.
Feedback
“Shane’s guidance was instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition from one generation of ownership to the next. Shane’s dedication in assisting us through an extensive succession planning process ranged from initial conceptual mode lling of how this may occur right through to some quite complex Capital Gains Tax considerations. Shane’s pragmatic approach is a true strength, particularly when emotions become involved, it isn’t always easy when it comes time to ‘hand it down’ but every one has been very happy with the result.”

About
Shane brings over 30 years of financial, operational, taxation and advisory experience and is a Non-Executive Director of various client companies.
He’s previously held CFO positions in listed companies, Private Equity investees and in the Public sector and worked with a ‘Big 4’ Accounting firm.
Shane is a Chartered Accountant and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Shane’s “why?” is to provide an enjoyable & rewarding lifestyle for his family, one that blurs the lines between work and play and allows him to interact with (and learn from) fun and inspiring people, every day. His philosophy is that a family business is the key driver to wealth creation and achieving one’s life goals. Helping his clients articulate those goals and develop and implement strategies to achieve them (using the family business) is what sets Ryan Financial apart from the average accounting practice.
